A Poem: Where Is The Path?
How can we know the path,
Unless we know where we are going?
How can we walk into tomorrow,
Unless we know which way to step?
Where we end up
Depends on which direction we go.
Where our future leads depends
Upon which way we look.
Where is the path
That leads us onward,
That leads us into tomorrow
That shows us our road less traveled,
That moves us from present to future,
From here to there?
To where?
A Prayer: Following God’s Will
My Lord God… the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this, you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it.
— Thomas Merton, Thought in Solitude
A Scripture: For Reflection
…and whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.” — Isaiah 30:21 CSB
