A Poem: Truth
It is hard to accept
What I don’t like,
What I disagree with,
What is offensive,
What is defensive,
What is too sensitive;
Even when it is true!
But truth stands above,
Truth shines through
Without any bias;
Truth does not distort,
Truth does not contort,
Truth only reports
What is!
A Prayer:
Lord, help me to seek righteousness,
For all righteousness comes from you;
Give me the desire to seek
All that is right,
All that is just,
All that is honorable,
All that is lovely,
All that is pure,
All that is holy,
All that is true,
Give me the courage
To say “yes” to all that is true;
For you, Lord, are in all
That is true.
A Passage: For Reflection
“Lord,” Thomas said, “we don’t know where you’re going. How can we know the way?”
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
